Watch What You Say

hey guys, just realised it was kinda getting late. have to wake up at arnd 6 to go to sch to help finish painting the banner and its 1.53am rite now. actually wanted to share something really cool tt i sorta experienced today but ill blog abt it tmr instead. haha cool things come to those who wait:)

ok lets start with my qt for today. its abt James 3:1-12:

¹Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly. ²We all stumble in many ways. If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep his whole body in check.

³When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal. ⁴Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. ⁵Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. ⁶The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.

⁷All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and creatures of the sea are being tamed and have been tamed by man, ⁸but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.

⁹With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. ¹⁰Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. ¹¹Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? ¹²My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.

yeps so basically James warns us to watch what we say. hence the title of this post:) ok so James warns us to not use our tongues to curse. and i think tt all of u reading this don't. but if u do, well stop. James says it well enough so i dont have to reiterate anything. but wad he does not explicitly mention is tt when we talk to another person, dont spout hurtful things at them. even if u dont like them... (i mean u are suppose to love them but obviously there are pple tt u cant stand) u shldnt tear him/her down with ur words. and u shldnt gossip abt them too. i noe u guys all noe tt we shldnt do it but as we are all human, we still do it. i confess tt i sometimes talk abt pple behind their backs. i agree tt it is a way to get our grudges off our chests and prevent a confrontation but we shld learn how to love him/her.

the main thing is not to use our tongues and put down pple and insult them. u may think tt its a small comment like "can u just shut up, u are so irritating!!" tt can really hurt someone. it may bring him further away from Christ seeing how a Christian reacts. i mean if he noes u are just kidding and fooling arnd tts ok (as u noe i always do tt) but if u are not sure whether he noes u are joking, its better not to do it. let us try to use our tongues to bless pple instead of hurting and cursing them. as u have all heard before, our tongues can be a terrible weapon. lets tame our tongues and use it to bring pple closer to Christ then to push them away from Him.

ok well tts my qt. just realised the bulk of this post length is from the verses. haha oh wells. so gonna go take a 3-4 hr sleep now. stay tuned for the interesting thing tt i realised today. well it might not be as cool for u as u think but it was quite cool for me. haha oh and i havent forgotten the vid tt i said i would post up like in one of my first few posts on this blog. gonna post it up when i have the time. and if anyone noes how to make a tagboard pls help me. haha thx guys for reading. cyas:)
